Lead Chaplain amongst Deaf People and Diocesan Disability Adviser
The Diocese and ODCD are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Lead Chaplain amongst Deaf People and Diocesan Disability Adviser, Rev'd Katie Tupling. She is likely to start her new post towards the end of March 2019.
Katie is currently Vicar of two parishes in south Sheffield, having been ordained for nearly 16 years. Born with a physical disability, Katie has always had a vested interest in bringing together good theology and the robust experience of disability and Faith. She is the co-founder of user-led task group 'Disability and Jesus', and in her spare time advises the Bishop of Sheffield on disability and inclusion.
Speaking of her new appointment to Oxford, Katie said, " I am thrilled to be coming back to Oxford (where I trained for ordained ministry), to be working alongside Bishop Steven and his team, and to be fully engaged with both the d/Deaf Chaplaincy team, and the disabled community within the Diocese."
We very much look forward to welcoming her and joining with her in ministry.
